About
My interest in industrial engineering and organizational behavior began in the 1990s as an observer of economic conditions that created the region we now know to be the Rust Belt. Growing up in the Finger Lakes region of New York, the most prominent example of this shift I observed was the collapse of Kodak.
Since beginning my formal education I've focused on following that interest into a variety of disciplines to put together the best possible theoretical and practical toolkit to help organizations create sustainable success. My toolkit's foundation is built on an Anthropological framework of the power of observation, experience, and context. Particularly, a keen sense to discover WHY we do WHAT we do as I've found that without addressing the WHY, change projects may oftentimes be set up for failure. In essence, most projects include a root cause analysis backed by social science theory. I use that approach in conjunction with theory and methods from industrial engineering, operations management, industrial psychology, and design thinking among others to help organizations identify opportunities, create solutions and implementation strategies, as well as implementation evaluation criteria.
I take great pride in the work I do, as well as the strong relationships I’ve built with clients and colleagues. I enjoy addressing new challenges and hard problems. That is why my interest in industrial engineering and organizational behavior has expanded to work on marketing, evaluation, and UX type projects amongst others you may find in my CV.
